Presentation Description:
I know a speaker who stated, “Your job as a leader is to adapt to the needs of your followers.” I vehemently disagree: “The role as a leader is to create a vision and path toward an obtainable goal as a team.” I believe it is a mentality, a way of thinking, and a way of performing, which sets the company’s standard and tone. Communication is how we convey the message, though what is said or assumed, though usually not clear what we mean.
Business owners tend to come up through the ranks and generally have not had formal business training (even if you have, you still probably have these challenges). This presentation focuses on the leadership and communication aspects of our companies. Using the attendee’s information about their own companies, we will first discuss your intent as a leader and how the role should look. With some fun and memorable exercises involving role-playing and communication skills, we will learn how to communicate effective leadership and better communication with your company practices as a whole.
